Sunset Floral Medusa is a 5-layer silkscreen and letterpress print, printed by Mullowney Printing, with hand-painted acrylic details by the artist. Inspired by Marple's Silver Floral Medusa painting from her "Bad Feminist" exhibition at Ever Gold [Projects] in 2019, the print combines Medusa's head with a floral print background and sunset gradient. The head is based on Benvenuto Cellini's famed bronze sculpture "Perseus with the head of Medusa" from 1545. In the print, Marple attempts to transform the male-centric Medusa slaying story into a more empathetic and feminist one by leaving Perseus out to focus solely on Medusa.
